Minigame Filing
Notes
- [Minigame Filing] is one step in the prerequisite approval process for IAA game filing.
- If your submission is rejected during the approval process, please promptly self-check and correct it based on the platform's feedback, then resubmit.
- The approval requires that the game name and account entity remain consistent with the current submitted game name and submitted account entity at every stage; otherwise it will be rejected.
- Before submitting [Minigame Filing] for the first time, please confirm whether you want to use the current game name and account entity as the filing registration information.
- Once [Minigame Filing] has been submitted and is under review or approved, the name or account entity cannot be modified.
- Failing to complete the MIIT filing as required for a long time, or renaming/changing the entity after filing, may cause the minigame information and filing information to be inconsistent for a long time, which may affect the normal operation of your minigame, including but not limited to restricting search and restricting new user registration. Please proactively monitor this and, once you receive the corresponding review result, promptly proceed to the next step for review to speed up completing the current or updated filing.
1. Submission Requirements
Ensure a clear, complete, and truthful description of the minigame content you are filing, including but not limited to scenes, gameplay, features, and other information; and upload the corresponding screenshots, which must be consistent in size and version.
2. Submission Path
Go to "Account Settings - Minigame Filing - Complete Now", click "Go to Submit" on the right of Minigame Filing to enter the form page, and complete the form as guided by the page.
3. Review Status Descriptions
3.1 Platform Review in Progress
Displayed after the minigame filing is submitted for review.
Note: If you need to modify the minigame filing information, you can enter the edit page, scroll to the bottom and click "Withdraw", then edit and resubmit.
3.2 Platform Rejected
If the platform's preliminary review finds something that does not meet the requirements, the platform will reject it and inform the developer of the specific reason.
3.3 Competent Authority Review in Progress
Displayed after the materials have passed the platform's preliminary review and been submitted to the competent authority. In this status, please do not perform any modification operations, including but not limited to modifying the game name or migrating the entity; just wait for the final approval result.
3.4 Competent Authority Rejected
If the materials fail the competent authority's review because they do not meet the prerequisite filing standards, the rejection will inform the developer of the specific reason.
3.5 Competent Authority Approved
This status indicates that the prerequisite approval process has ended. The developer should promptly go to the [Minigame Filing] page and complete the subsequent steps as guided by the page, so as not to affect the normal operation of your minigame.
3.6 Information Update
After filing is completed, if you modify the minigame information causing the filing information to be inconsistent with the minigame information, "Information Update" will be displayed. At this point you need to promptly update the filing. The filing update steps differ depending on the information modified; please follow the document steps strictly.
Q&A
Q1: How long does minigame filing take?
The platform's preliminary review will be completed within 1-2 working days; the competent authority will complete the review within 10-20 working days (the actual review time prevails). The review result will be notified via in-site message and other means. If there are any modifications or rejection records in between, the approval timeframe will be recalculated from the next submission.
Q2: How do I check the approval progress?
You can view the current progress through the status on the filing process page. "Platform Review in Progress / Competent Authority Review in Progress" means the materials are being reviewed by the platform or have been submitted to the competent authority for review; "Platform Rejected / Competent Authority Rejected" means the material information does not meet the requirements and needs to be modified or completed before you can continue; "Competent Authority Approved" means the prerequisite approval is complete and you can proceed to the next step.
The following common situations can affect the filing timeframe; you can self-check first:
1) The required prerequisite qualification materials have not been submitted or have not passed review
2) The age-appropriateness prompt has not been set or has not passed
3) The minigame filing is non-compliant and has been rejected multiple times without being updated and resubmitted
4) The game was renamed or the entity was migrated after the minigame filing was submitted
If after self-checking you have ruled out the above situations, please wait patiently. All games that meet the requirements are already in the approval queue; no action is needed, just wait for the approval result notification.
Q3: The minigame filing was rejected because "a game with the same name has been approved / it duplicates an already-approved name"?
The reason is that the game name has already been used by another game and approved by the prerequisite approval competent authority. The competent authority must ensure the uniqueness of the correspondence between the game name and the filing number. Currently, having the same game name approved more than once is not supported. Please modify the game name and resubmit for review.
After renaming, you must ensure that the game name filled in the minigame filing and printed on the qualification materials is consistent with the new name, and that the new name is related to the game content and gameplay. For example, you cannot use "Three Kingdoms Heroes" to name a match-3 game that has nothing to do with the Three Kingdoms theme.
Q4: The game has already provided a version number approval document, but the minigame filing submission was rejected?
Games that have already provided a Network Game Publication Number Issuance Form or version number approval document do not need to submit a minigame filing for now. On the filing process guide page, select "Previous Step" at the bottom to return and select Case 1 for filing.
Q5: I need to resubmit the minigame filing, but I currently cannot find the submission entry in the system?
Go to "Account Settings - Basic Settings - Minigame Filing - Complete Now", click "Resubmit" on the right of Minigame Filing to enter the form page, and complete the form as guided by the page. If the minigame filing is under competent authority review / already approved by the competent authority, resubmission is not supported. If you confirm that the minigame name or account entity has changed but the "Resubmit" button does not appear for the minigame filing, please promptly provide feedback to customer service.
Q6: I submitted the minigame filing and it was rejected with "the minigame filing entity/name does not meet the requirements"?
The reason is that after the minigame filing was approved, you modified the game name or account entity, causing the prerequisite provincial-publicity approval document to be inconsistent with the current minigame information. In this case you need to go through the minigame filing again, and after the competent authority approves it, resubmit the minigame filing.
Per the competent authority's requirements, the game name and account entity must remain consistent with those at the time of prerequisite approval. Renaming or migrating the entity will greatly affect your filing timeframe and result, so please operate with great caution.
Q8: The qualification review has passed, but choosing another case for filing still requires submitting a qualification review?
The two cases require different qualification materials. When the materials do not satisfy the other filing case, you need to submit the necessary materials after switching. (For material requirements, refer to "II. Qualification Submission and Review" in this guide.)
For example: if you submitted the qualification under [Case 2] and it passed review, then went back to the previous step and chose [Case 1] for filing submission, the system may require a new qualification review because the necessary version number materials are missing. If you confirm that the current game has not obtained the corresponding version number, what you need to do is:
Click "Previous Step" to return, select "Case 2: The minigame does not currently and will not in the future need to enable virtual payment", and follow the guidance to go to minigame filing to complete the subsequent steps.
Q9: After the prerequisite approval is completed, what should I do next?
After the prerequisite approval passes, you can go to the [Minigame Filing] page to submit the filing. The overall filing process is divided into five steps: filling in the filing information, platform preliminary review, MIIT SMS verification, Communications Administration review, and filing success.
