Git and team collaboration
Usually commit
- Game scripts and source assets.
- Scenes, animations, and project configuration.
- Workspace settings shared by the team.
- Build scripts and extension code.
Usually exclude
- Regenerable caches and temporary directories.
- Machine-specific absolute paths, personal settings, and logs.
- Build output, unless the team's release process explicitly requires it.
- Account credentials, signing certificates, and access keys.
Check ignore rules against the project's actual output directories rather than copying another project's .gitignore unchanged.
Before a substantial Chat edit, create a commit or branch so that changes can be reviewed and reverted file by file.
