Create a project
Start your own game from PinK's empty workbench. First create a minimal project that opens, saves, and runs successfully; add more gameplay and assets after that baseline is ready.
Create the project
- Start PinK and select Create Project in the welcome area.
- Enter a descriptive project name, such as
my-click-game. - Wait for project creation, asset initialization, and script indexing to finish.
- When the status bar returns to normal, confirm that
assetsappears in the asset view.
Understand the project files
As you add content, the project normally contains these files and directories:
text
my-click-game/
├── assets/ # Scenes, scripts, and source assets
├── settings/ # COCOS project settings
├── package.json # Project identity and engine information
├── tsconfig.json # TypeScript configuration
├── library/ # Generated asset cache
├── temp/ # Generated temporary files
├── local/ # Local editor state
└── build/ # Build outputassets, settings, and the root configuration files are project source. library, temp, local, and build can normally be regenerated and should not be committed as application source.
Establish a minimal baseline
- Create and save an entry scene in
assets. - Set it as the startup scene and run it once.
- Confirm that the Problems panel reports no project configuration errors.
- Initialize version control and commit a baseline without caches or build output.
- Add gameplay, checking one observable result at a time.
